Woman Carjacked At Local Mall
Shopper Threatened With A Gun In Broad Daylight
FAIRLAWN, Ohio -- A shopper at Summit Mall was threatened at gunpoint Monday at about 2:30 p.m., according to police.
The woman told Fairlawn police that she was in the mall's parking lot when she was approached by two men who showed her a gun and demanded her vehicle.
Police were able to track the stolen vehicle using a computer database and by notifying other local departments.
The stolen vehicle was located in Akron. A short pursuit began, then the men tried to run from police on foot. One man was caught and arrested.
The vehicle has been recovered and the Fairlawn Police Department is investigating the incident.
