TOLEDO, Ohio -- A Toledo school security guard was arrested Wednesday.

Police said the man had sexual contact with a teenage girl on Leverette Junior High School property during school hours, NewsChannel5 partner ONN reported.

Police charged Harry Weatherholt, 51, with sexual battery. He has been a school security guard for the last 20 years.

Toledo police arrested Weatherholt after the 14-year-old student told police he pulled her out of class this month and raped her. The report indicates he told her teacher she was assisting him with some task.

"He could escort her anywhere without suspicion because of his position," Sgt. Sam Harris said.

Police said Weatherholt knew the victim and the victim's family for the last two years and that he paid her special attention.

Toledo public schools sent released its response: "We are responding to the charges that have been brought against a district employee. The employee has been suspended and TPS is taking the appropriate disciplinary action against the employee as per the allegations that have been brought forward. As the investigation into this case continues, the district will follow the appropriate due process."
