CLEVELAND -- Police arrested Brian Cannon, 27, in connection with the beating and stabbing of a 74-year-old man.

Cannon was charged with attempted murder, aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary and felonious assault.

Police said the incident happened at 2:30 p.m. Friday at a home in the 700 block of Mallison Avenue.

The 74-year-old man said he was doing some repairs to his rental property when Cannon entered the home.

The senior citizen said he was beaten and stabbed with an unknown sharp object. His wallet was also stolen.

A neighbor found the victim and called emergency crews. The man was taken to the hospital. His condition is unknown.
