UPDATED: 12:17 pm EDT October 31, 2007

Hanford Dixon appeared in court Wednesday morning and pleaded not guilty to operating a vehicle while intoxicated charges.

Police said they stopped 48-year-old former Browns player just before 11:30 p.m. on Sunday after another motorist reported an erratic driver on Interstate 90 west.

He did not appear in court. Rather his attorney faxed his plea to the court.

Police pulled him over at the Crocker Road exit, where he submitted to a Breathalyzer test. His blood-alcohol level was found to be in excess of the legal limit, police said.
