CLEVELAND -- A Cleveland man is accused of tying a dog to the bumper of his car and dragging the animal for blocks. Police said Eric Jackson, 42, was arrested on animal cruelty charges. He appeared in court Thursday. They said a woman called for help when she saw Jackson driving on St. Clair Avenue. She said she yelled at him, "Hey, you're dragging a dog." She said Jackson responded, "Is it dead?" Animal Control workers found the dog limping near East 63rd Street and Lausche Avenue. They said its rear legs were injured. Police said the dog was taken to an animal clinic. Its condition was not immediately available. Jackson said he dragged the dog after it attacked his dog in his front yard. Jackson pleaded not guilty to the charges.
