EASTLAKE, Ohio -- Police are investigating after an Eastlake teen said she was sexually assaulted by a convicted sex offender she had been talking to on MySpace.

Police said Andre Johnson spent time in prison for a sex crime against a 14-year-old girl and is now accused of raping another 14-year-old girl after breaking into her home in the middle of the night on July 15, reported NewsChannel5's Bob Jones.

Detectives say the victim met Johnson in passing a couple of years ago and recently the two started chatting and exchanging phone numbers on MySpace.

Detectives have subpoenaed Johnson's MySpace account and his cell phone records.

Police said that during questioning, Johnson admitted to having sex that night but couldn't remember with whom.

They said he admitted to having smoked marijuana that night.

During a hearing Tuesday, Johnson's attorney tried to show there isn't enough evidence and questioned the victim's mother, who was home at the time of the alleged rape.

Johnson spent eight months in prison after being convicted of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor in 2002.
