EASLEY, S.C. -- Police in South Carolina believe two 13-year-olds are responsible for a string of vandalism attacks, and even stuffed a puppy into a mailbox before tying it shut.Pickens County investigators said that they have arrested two teens in connection with the neighborhood crime spree. Deputies said that the 14-year-old and two 13-year-olds slit tires, shattered car windows and smashed mailboxes overnight Sunday. The 13-year-olds were arrested on Monday.Investigators said that more arrests are expected in the case.Deputies said that the 32 different acts of vandalism included animal cruelty. The vandals also stuffed a puppy into a mailbox and tied it shut.The incidents occurred at Old Salem Estates in Easley."At first I thought it might be a possum or something else so I left it closed," resident Jerry Waters said. "I kept looking and decided it was a dog. I've got three of my own and it wasn't it wasn't right, it was sad."Deputies aren't releasing the names of the suspects because of their ages. More arrests are expected in the case, investigators said.The puppy is back with its owners and doing well, investigators said.
