There were three shootings in Cleveland overnight Saturday.

In one shooting on Carrington on the city's west side, a 50-year-old woman was shot multiple times and a 63-year-old man was shot and stabbed.

Police said the woman called her friend and said that she had been shot. When the friends arrived, the woman had died. The man was transported to MetroHealth Medical Center. No names are available at this time.

Another shooting took place at East 120th Street and Cromwell Avenue. A 17-year-old was shot in the back. He was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center, where he died.

The third shooting took place in The Flats. Joseph Wynn, 25, of Cleveland, was walking with a friend when he was separated and confronted by a gunman.

He was chased and then shot and fell into street. Additional shots were fired and the gunman fled in a green car. The coroner said he died from gunshot wounds to the leg and head.

Over the Fourth of July weekend, there was a lot of violence in the city as well.

During that weekend, six people died and several others were injured.

Cleveland may be headed for a big spike in homicides.

Last year 119 people were killed in Cleveland, the deadliest year since 1996.

This year 68 people have been killed, and that doesn't count three weekend deaths that could be ruled homicides. At this rate, Cleveland could have more than 130 homicides this year.
