The family of the man accused of fatally shooting three people on the Fourth of July has broken its silence on the shootings.

Terrance Hough Jr. has been charged in connection with the shootings on Cleveland's west side, which apparently took place during a dispute over fireworks.

Katie Rosby, Bruce Anderson and Jacob Feichtner were killed and two others were injured.

On Monday, Hough's family released a statement expressing their sadness over the tragedy and saying how they continue to love and support Hough, who is married with two young children.

Here is the Hough family statement in its entirety:

"As everyone should be aware, the Hough family is extremely saddened by the events of last week. They are attempting to come to grips with this terrible tragedy and would first like to extend their deepest sympathies and condolences to the families and friends of those involved. They are praying that everyone be given the strength and peace they need to deal with this tragedy.

"Terry Hough has been a loving husband to his wife of over seven years, Regina, and a caring father to his 5-year-old son and 4-year-old daughter. He comes from a loving and supportive family with a strong record of public service. A 12-year veteran of the Cleveland Fire Department, he has an unblemished record and is respected by his peers for his dedication to his job. Terry's family and friends continue to love him and are praying for him at this difficult time.

"Once again, the entire Hough family extends its deepest sympathies and condolences to the families and friends of those involved in this tragedy."
