Kucinich Meets With Potential LTV Buyers

LTV Set To Close Feb. 28

UPDATED: 5:36 p.m. EST December 21, 2001

There are more rumors of a potential buyer for LTV, according to NewsChannel5.

There's been talk that Cleveland Cliffs, which mines iron ore, is interested. In addition to Cleveland Cliffs, Congressman Dennis Kucinich told WEWS that he met with several interested groups who are talking about buying all or part of the company.

Time, however, is running out.

A deal to extend workers health benefits, sub pay and pension was approved in court today as expected.

LTV shuts down Feb. 28 unless there's a buyer, WEWS said.

"I've had discussion with individuals about purchase, but the clock is ticking," said Kucinich.
