SHEFFIELD VILLAGE, Ohio -- A Sheffield Village officer involved in a Taser gun incident is off the police force.Officer Edward Long was charged with excessive use of force in connection with using a Taser gun on a drunken driving suspect, who then fell and cracked her head.Long agreed to resign so he wouldn't have a termination on his record.The suspect, Kristina Fretter, agreed to drop her case against Sheffield Village in exchange for having the case against her dismissed.
