UPDATED: 6:44 pm EDT March 20, 2007

An man died of a heart attack after he broke his neck last month at a Bedford nursing home, and a worker at the facility is facing a murder charge.

After a month-long investigation, Bedford police and the Cuyahoga County coroner are calling the death of John Kovach a homicide, reported NewsChannel5.

Investigators said 37-year-old Tracy Stovall pushed Kovach to his death at the Aspen Woodside Village nursing home.

Witnesses told police they saw Stovall pushing Kovach and watching him fall.

Kovach suffered a skull fracture and broken neck. Paramedics raced to the home, but the coroner said the severe injuries caused a heart attack and Kovach died.

Woodside management said they took quick action against Stovall and terminated her after an internal investigation.

Stovall will be arraigned on a murder charge Wednesday morning at Bedford Municipal Court.
