CLEVELAND -- A guidance device that helps pilots land wasn't working Sunday when a Delta commuter plane ran off the end of a runway at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport.Airport commissioner Fred Szabo said the device, which emits a signal that guides pilots to the runway, was covered with snow.

Passengers He said federal investigators will determine if the problem with the device contributed to the rough landing in which no one was hurt.Szabo said passengers reported that they couldn't see the runway as the plane approached, and control tower employees couldn't say where the jet touched down because it was snowing so hard.The plane landed on the airport's shortest runway while two longer runways were being cleared.Julianne Hough, of Utah, was aboard the plane.She said she was afraid and is hoping that her nerves will have calmed when it's time for her to go home. She was flying into Cleveland on a business trip.She also shared exclusive photos with NewsChannel5 of the plane that skidded off the runway.Hough was in town in connection with an ABC show, but she couldn't divulge anymore information.
