AMHERST, Ohio -- The superintendent of Amherst City Schools sent out a reverse 911 phone message to parents concerning a van that followed two girls.

The incident happened Thursday morning at Cleveland Avenue and Forest Street. Police said two men in a white van followed the girls in the downtown area of Amherst.

Parents are being advised to tell their children to remain vigilant and to seek refuge in a nearby building or home if they see a vehicle matching the van's description.

The men inside the van are described as Hispanic men with dark facial hair.
