11-Year-Old Shot In Face While Hunting

POSTED: 11:19 am EDT October 24, 2006

An 11-year-old boy is in the Cleveland Clinic after being shot while hunting with his father over the weekend.

Portage County investigators said another boy accidentally shot Alex Hajak in the face Saturday. Alex had numerous pellet wounds with one entering the corner of his eye, his family said.

The boy, his father and several others were hunting in Deerfield near the Mahoning County line.

Officers from the Portage County Sheriff's Office and the Ohio Department of Natural Resource's Division of Wildlife are investigating the shooting.
