Local Artist Shares Passion For Spirituality, Meditation

Gallery Owner Says Life Crisis Inspired Him To Begin Painting 7 Years Ago

The Festivo Gallery is a fixture in Cleveland's Little Italy neighborhood, and it is owned and operated by a man powerfully moved by meditation.

In his weekly spirituality report, NewsChannel5's Ted Henry reported on Brian Jones, a man stirred passionately by art, classical music and the pursuit of God.

"I was always on a spiritual search as long as I can remember," said Jones.

One of the outgrowths of Jones' spiritual life is painting. He's prolific at it, having painted every piece of art hanging in his gallery.

Jones only started painting seven years ago, and says it was a life crisis that inspired him.

With his painting, Jones continues to meditate daily in his gallery, where he also instructs some of his business neighbors in meditation.

"He's brought to me the opportunity to come here and to slow down every so often," said art gallery owner Jerry Keller.

Jones also plays classical guitar. With music, painting and meditation, Jones' plate is full. But his favorite activity is prayer, the pursuit of eternity and wherever it takes him, Henry reported.
