Berea Mayor Cyril Kleem on Monday released a statement regarding the status of the Cleveland Browns and its partnership with the city.
While the team’s headquarters are located in Berea and open practice sessions are generally open to the public, Kleem announced that the team is considering moving its training camp. The team is reportedly in talks with Columbus for the move.

The City of Berea has enjoyed a unique partnership with the Browns that spans three decades. It's a partnership we believe is mutually beneficial and built on the foundation of trust and transparency.
When the Browns came to us three plus years ago to inform us of their intent to explore out-of-town training camp opportunities, we were open to the idea because they felt it was in the best interest of their football team. Although open training camp in Berea is a great tradition for our city because practice sessions have always been free for fans, the greatest benefit to our city is being their year-round home.
It's clear to us that the Browns remain committed to Berea as evident by their recent extension. Included in that extension is a commitment to host a number of open practice sessions that will continue the tradition of giving fans the opportunity to see the Browns up close and personal in Berea for free.
Our relationship with the Browns remains strong. Their year-round presence and commitment to being a responsible corporate neighbor is crucial to the success and health of our city going forward.
