Report: Sixers And Iguodala Sign New Deal

POSTED: 3:20 am EDT August 18, 2008

(Sports Network) - The Philadelphia 76ers and restricted free agent forward Andre Iguodala have agreed to a new contract.

Multiple sources, including a report on Philly.com, on Sunday stated that Philadelphia and the 24-year-old first round draft pick have signed a deal that would pay him $80 million over six years.

An official announcement from the team is expected on Monday.

A former first-round selection, Iguodala averaged 19.9 points and 5.4 rebounds in 82 games last season and helped the 76ers reach the playoffs for the first time in three years.

Iguodala was the ninth overall selection in the 2004 NBA Draft. He played two seasons at Arizona and was an All-Pac 10 honoree during his sophomore campaign when he averaged 12.9 points, 8.4 boards and 4.9 assists per game.
