Celtics Re-Sign Tony Allen

(Sports Network) - The Boston Celtics have re-signed guard Tony Allen, the team announced on Wednesday. Per club policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Allen, who has spent all four of his NBA seasons with the Celtics, averaged 6.6 points and 2.2 rebounds in 75 games for the NBA champions while setting career highs in points (494), assists (114) and minutes played (1,373).

The 6-foot-4, 213-pounder was selected out of Oklahoma State with the 25th overall pick in the 2004 draft and has averaged 7.3 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.01 steals in 236 career games.

Celtics forward Kevin Garnett didn't get a chance to play against his former team in Minnesota last season because of an abdominal strain. Garnett has been back at full strength for quite some time now and will lead Boston tonight against the Timberwolves at the Target Center.
