Boston Acquires Walker From Washington

(Sports Network) - Washington traded the draft rights of Kansas State forward Bill Walker, the 47th overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft, to defending-champion Boston for cash considerations.

Walker is best known as Michael Beasley's teammate at Kansas State this past season. Beasley was taken by the Miami Heat with the second overall choice in the draft. Walker started in 28 of 31 games last season and had a 16.1 ppg average along with 6.3 rebounds.

Celtics forward Kevin Garnett didn't get a chance to play against his former team in Minnesota last season because of an abdominal strain. Garnett has been back at full strength for quite some time now and will lead Boston tonight against the Timberwolves at the Target Center.
