CLEVELAND - Whole Foods announced that it will begin making changes and using some discount tactics currently used by other, more traditional supermarkets.
According to the Wall Street Journal , the company wants to expand beyond its organic products and grass-fed beef. By doing so, it hopes to offer lower-priced items. It will also begin offering flash sales at specific times that they'll promote on Facebook, Twitter and other social media sites.
The new strategy comes as Whole Foods fends off an increasing number of rivals and customers become more careful about spending.
