A new study said the reusable grocery bags shoppers are now encouraged to use to help save the environment can make people sick.
The study, just published in the Journal of Infection Diseases, details a girls' soccer team trip where nine people go sick from the norovirus.
All nine of them ate cookies from the same reusable bag. The virus turned up on the sides of the bag below the handle.
Officials said reusable bags are safe. They do have to be kept clean and disinfected.
