Six brands of dry carpet cleaner manufactured by Milliken have been recalled due to possible exposure to harmful bacteria.
The recall involves Arm & Hammer, Capture, Healthy Home, Oreck, Resista, and Riccar brands of dry carpet cleaners and they were sold at Home Depot, Lowes, Menards, Oreck, Walmart and specialty carpet and vacuum stores from July 2015 through September 2016.
According to Milliken, the powder could have a harmful bacteria in it that would pose a risk of respiratory and other infections in compromised individuals. People with healthy immune systems are generally unaffected by the bacteria.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission suggests that customers stop using the product immediately and contact Milliken either by calling 888-770-7142 or going online to their website.
