CLEVELAND - Giant Eagle has ended its program that offers free antibiotic and diabetes medications.
On Jan. 17, the grocery store chain moved those prescriptions to its list of $4 and $10 drugs, said Giant Eagle spokesman Dan Donovan.
"While these medications are no longer free of charge, customers with qualifying prescriptions continue to save more than 50 percent when compared to many chain drug retailer prices," the store said in a statement on Friday.
In October, Giant Eagle pharmacies started providing certain prenatal vitamins to expectant mothers for free with a valid prescription. That program will continue.
Customers will still be able to get 25 cents in fuelperks! for every five qualifying prescriptions through March.
