CLEVELAND - A study by CouponCabin found more adults are using coupons on dates. More than one-quarter of adults, 26 percent, say they've used a coupon on a first date. That's up 18 percent from last year. I'm not so sure about a coupon on a first date, although 26 percent said they would be okay with it, I think coupons are a great way to save money. Just leave them at home for that first date.
Joe Daugirdas also known as Joe the Coupon Guy loves his coupons and chooses restaurants based on the discounts. He said he's found many new places to eat using this tactic.
He sells the Our Town & All Around coupon book on his website. Full disclosure, he makes a small amount of money based on how many he sells like a school fundraiser might sell these coupon books. They come packed with 1,000 coupons for restaurants, fast food, drug stores, movies, golf courses, pizza, dry cleaning, wineries, entertainment and more.
Daugirdas said it's like getting 1,000 Groupons for $28. The latest book was just released and the coupons are good through December 1, 2013.
