Cyber Monday deals are just as good if not better than Black Friday. Here's a look at the hot items and tips to earn money while you shop online.
CLEVELAND - The circulars are out for Black Friday. Now, it's time to decide what to buy. While the ads make everything look like a great deal, there are 10 things you should not buy. Dealnews , is an online site that tracks the pricing of products. The website found you should wait on these ten items because you can get them cheaper at other times of the year.
Procrastinators will rack up the most savings. Dealnews found toys tend to go on sale on the final weeks before Christmas. If you wait, you run the risk of not finding the item you want especially if it's a hot seller.
2. Brand name HDTVs
There are lots of televisions on sale on Black Friday. Shoppers line up at Best Buy, and start grabbing them when the doors open. If you want a name brand one, wait until January and February. Manufacturers are clearing their stock for newer models plus retailers discount them in time to watch the Super Bowl on the big screen.
If you are willing to buy a TV from a lesser known company, you may steal a deal on Black Friday.
3. The latest digital camera
The 2013 options are just a few months away, so the best discounts on the current generation models will be in a few months. Dealnews said latest digital SLR on the market now will become an "old model" in February.
4. Game Consoles without a bundled item
Don't buy just the Xbox. You'll get more for your money if you buy it in a bundle.
5. Christmas Decorations
If you can wait, skip the impulse to buy. Discounts will add up later in the season.
6. Office supplies
The office supply stores are releasing Black Friday ads luring you in with laptops and other techie items hoping you'll then splurge on office supplies. Dealnews said the deals are no better than any other time of the year.
7. Jewelry and watches
Dealnews said don't buy these items throughout the holiday season. The spring, summer, or Valentine's Days are better days to buy.
8. Winter clothing
Some of the best apparel coupons of the year will appear on Black Friday, but Dealnews said wait until January if winter clothing is on your list. That's when the clearance sales will start.
9. Apple iPad mini
There is a lot of hype surrounding the iPad mini, but the cost will be $329. There may be a retailer offering a small discount, but Dealnews said the product's features are essentially the same as the iPad 2. The prediction is that will drop to $299 on Black Friday so you'll get more bang for your buck with the iPad 2.
10. Microsoft Surface RT Tablet
The discounts are expected to be minimal if at all. If the sales are slow, experts predict the Surface will be discounted in the spring.
