Graduation day is not the only reason for the Class of 2013 and their parents to celebrate. This year's college graduates will be entering into a higher paying job market.
According to a new report by the National Association of Colleges and Employers, the average starting salary for new college graduates earning bachelor's degrees increased 5.3 percent over last year to $44,928.
That is more than $2,000 more than the 2012 average salary for graduating college students.
Those with health sciences degrees can expect the biggest gain with a salary bump of more than 9 percent.
That is followed by business, education, computer science and engineering majors.
Those that will see the smallest increase, just under 2 percent, are graduates with degrees in humanities and social sciences.
