Bid Online For Great Government Auction Deals

Government Getting In On Auction Craze

UPDATED: 1:28 pm EST March 8, 2004

Bidding online, made popular by Web sites such as eBay, has become one of the hottest crazes for getting good deals on various items.

Now the government is getting in on the action by auctioning off items at Internet sites.

Firstgov.gov is the government's central auction site, featuring goods from the IRS, the defense department and other agencies.

Two other good Web sites are Stealitback.com, which auctions off items from police and sheriff's departments, and Bid4assets.com.
