SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio -- The single winning Mega Millions ticket in Tuesday night's $155 million jackpot was sold at a convenience store in this Cleveland suburb, lottery officials said early Wednesday.
Mega Millions officials confirmed the ticket was the only one to match all five numbers and the Mega Ball number.The ticket was sold at the Quick Shop Food Mart, said Mardele Cohen, spokeswoman for the Ohio Lottery.People gathered at the store Wednesday morning, hoping to learn the identity of the winner. Some onlookers said the winner did show up, checked the numbers and his ticket, then quietly slipped the ticket back in his pocket and left. Ohio Lottery officials said they have not yet been contacted by the winner.The store's owner will receive $100,000 for selling the winning ticket, plus a seven-day cruise for being the first location in Ohio to make someone a Mega-Millionaire.
The odds of winning the Mega Million jackpot are 1 in 134 million. In addition to the grand prize winner, 27 players, including three who bought tickets in Ohio, matched all five numbers but not the Mega Ball number. They will receive second prizes of $175,000 each.Another 104 players, including five who bought tickets in Ohio, matched four numbers, plus the Mega Ball number -- good for third prizes of $5,000 each.The winning numbers from Tuesday night's drawing were: 12,18,21,32 and 46. The Mega Ball number was 49.
