FBI Posts Thousands Of New Jobs

CLEVELAND -- The FBI posted the largest job opening since immediately after the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.The agency is looking for 850 special agents and more than 2,100 professional support workers.Assistant Director John Raucci of the FBI's Human Resources division said the boost of openings results from attrition and retirements."The goal is to bring more people on board with skills in critical areas, especially language fluency and computer science," said Raucci. "But, we're also looking for professionals in a wide variety of fields who have a deep desire to help protect our nation from terrorists, spies and others who wish us harm."According to Raucci, besides those skilled in computers and foreign languages, the FBI also needs experts in:
- Finance and accounting
- Security
- Intelligence analysis
- Compliance and quality assurance
- Training and education
- Records management
- Fingerprint examination
- Information technology
- Nursing and counseling
- Physical surveillance
- Electrical engineering
- Physical/natural/social sciences
- Administrative/clerical processes
- Automotive mechanics
- Management/program analysis
