Gas Prices Found At $3 And Under In Cleveland, Stow

CLEVELAND -- With oil prices in a downward spiral, the cost of gasoline in Ohio has dropped to levels not seen since the spring. NewsChannel5 found gas prices near or below $3 a gallon Monday morning.The cheapest found in Cuyahoga County was on West 150th Street near Interstate 71. Two stations had prices at $3.01 to $3.05 a gallon.In Summit County, regular gas was going for $2.87 on Steels Corners Road and Bridgewater Parkway in Stow. According to AAA and the Oil Price Information Service, the Ohio average for a gallon of regular has dropped 28 cents in the last week, to about $3.35 on Monday. That's still a bit higher than a year ago, when regular-grade gas was averaging $2.75 in the state. Gas prices have been coming down in the shadow of tumbling oil prices, now down nearly 40 percent since peaking in July. On Monday, crude fell to an eight-month low below $90 a barrel.Get information about cheap gas in your area.
