Target

At Target, Lau found Cabbage Patch Kids Cry & Drink Babies for $15. This is a Target exclusive that regularly sells for $24.99.

Target is also selling a Samsung mini DVD recorder for $179.99 (regularly $249.99).

Kohl's

At Kohl's, the doorbuster special is a 13-in-one game table that includes air hockey. It is on sale for $79.99. It usually sells for about $150.

Early risers can also cash in on Milton Bradley board games like Candyland and Hi Ho! Cherry-O for $1.99 after rebate.

Wal-Mart

Wal-Mart's doorbuster is a Venturer portable DVD player for $49.87.

Also, check out the Durabrand slow cooker for $3.98. Lau said they may sell out fast.

Circuit City

Circuit City early bargains include the first season of "Grey's Anatomy" on DVD for only $8.99 and a Gameboy Advance SP for $49.99.

The Gameboy normally retails for about $80.

Online Shopping

To help you maximize your time and money, mix in some online shopping.

"If you are the Black Friday mall shopper, go for it, charge. But consider this: Leave your credit card at home, take a pen and paper instead. Make notes of the things you like, what they cost, then go home, check out the prices online, the deals online, because that's where the deals will be had," said Helen Malani with Shopzilla.com.

The Web site gives you the prices from several stores so you can make the best choice. The site also allows you to type in your ZIP code in order to calculate shipping and handling up front.

Online Shopping Guide

Cyber Monday, the Monday after Thanksgiving, is the biggest online shopping day of the year.

Malani said to get the best deals online, watch for early bird and first-time buyer discounts.
