Children were injured in a fire in Cleveland Sunday night.

Firefighters fought an apartment blaze in the 1300 block of Crawford Road.

Non-Working Smoke Detectors Found In Apartments

Neighbor Curtis Beautford said he knocked on the door of the Berry residence when he saw flames and smoke just before 10 p.m.

Four people, three of whom were children, went to the hospital.

The children were taken to University Hospitals because of possible burns and smoke inhalation. A'Ziah, 4, and 3-year-old Ayana and 10-month-old A'Drea were treated and released on Monday.

There is no cause of the fire yet but investigators said it started on a matress. The children's mother blames a faulty smoke detector.

No other information is known at this time.
