Royals Extend Agreement With Omaha Until 2010

Omaha, NE -- (Sports Network) - The Kansas City Royals announced Thursday that the franchise has extended its Triple-A affiliate agreement with Omaha through the 2010 season.Omaha, which currently plays in the Pacific Coast League, has been the club's highest minor-league affiliate since the Royals franchise's 1969 inception. Only the Braves, who have had Richmond, Virginia as their Triple-A farm club since 1966, boast a longer continuous agreement. "We are excited to extend our partnership with Kansas City for the next two seasons," said Omaha Royals general manager Martie Cordaro. "After 40 years, we realize how much of a connection there is between the Kansas City Royals and professional baseball fans in Omaha."
