Nats' Activate Zimmerman From Two-Month DL Stint

POSTED: 1:37 am EDT July 23, 2008

(Sports Network) - The Washington Nationals activated third baseman Ryan Zimmerman from the 15-day disabled list Tuesday.

He went 1-for-3 with a pair of walks in the Nationals' 6-3 loss to San Francisco on Tuesday. Zimmerman had been on the DL since May 26 with a slightly torn labrum in his left shoulder.

The 23-yeard-old hurt the shoulder while sliding headfirst in a 2-1 win over Baltimore on May 18, but continued playing with the injury until May 25, going 8-for-22 during that span.
