NEW ORLEANS - Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis blames the devil for a story linking him to performance-enhancing drugs.
An article in Sports Illustrated said Lewis sought help from a company that says its deer-antler spray and pills contain a banned product connected to human growth hormone.
Lewis on Wednesday denied ever using the drugs and said "the trick of the devil" is to "distract you from everything you're trying to do." But he said the story won't distract the Ravens as they prepare for Sunday's Super Bowl against the San Francisco 49ers.
The 37-year-old linebacker said his mother raised him to put his "complete faith in God." Lewis adds that he prays every day that he can have the kind of impact on others that Jesus did.
