Poll: Majority of Americans hate their jobs or are disengaged

CLEVELAND - How happy are you to go to work every day? If you are like most Americans, you hate your job and are merely trying to survive each day at the office, according to a new poll.

Gallup's 2013 State of the American workplace poll shows 70 percent of Americans dislike their jobs or are completely disengaged. A little more than half of the workers say they have a perpetual case of the Mondays, meaning they are present, but not engaged in their work.

The report says the dissatisfaction at work has cost the U.S. an estimated $450 billion to $550 billion each year in lost productivity, stolen goods and missed days of work

There is some good news - 30 percent of the 150,000 workers surveyed said they honestly enjoy their jobs and their bosses.
