Chris Hodgson one of 100 nominated chefs up for Food & Wine magazine's The People's Best New Chef

CLEVELAND - One hundred chefs from 10 regions were nominated for Food & Wine magazine's The People's Best New Chef, however, only one can win.

Chris Hodgson of Hodge's Cleveland is vying for the 2013 title of The People's Best New Chef.

The 27-year-old chef was nominated for his efforts in pioneering Cleveland's food-truck scene and his quirky takes on American comfort food.

"It's a huge honor," said Hodgson. "I just want to bring as much attention and accolade to Cleveland food as possible and I just feel blessed to already be a part of an incredible Cleveland food scene."

Hodgson studied at Le Cordon Bleu in Scottsdale, Ariz. and has worked at Christopher's Crush in Phoenix, The Spotted Pig in New York City and, of course, his food truck Dim and Den Sum.

In 2011, his food truck Hodge Podge Truck finished second on the Food Network's "The Great Food Truck Race."

The week-long contest is currently underway and voting ends on Monday, March 18.
