Jack Marschall Set For Surgery Today

POSTED: 7:13 am EDT September 11, 2007
UPDATED: 8:45 am EDT September 11, 2007

Jack Marschall will undergo surgery at the Cleveland Clinic to donate a kidney to someone he's never met at 10:30 a.m.

Marschall, of "Good Morning Cleveland," wanted to help his brother-in-law, who's been on the kidney donor list for three years, but Marschall is not a match.

His daughter, however, is a match and she will donate her kidney to her uncle. She is also set to have surgery Tuesday morning.

Marschall said he decided to give his kidney away to a stranger, because he was already mentally prepared to make the donation.

Newsnet5 has a special section devoted to Marschall's donation called "Jack's Gift."
