MEDINA, Ohio -- Care packages from hundreds of Medina County students will soon be heading to the Middle East, NewsChannel5 reported.
Students at the Medina County Career Center volunteered their time to pack boxes full of goodies. They are heading for graduates of the school who are serving in the military.
The students hope to send each graduate several boxes filled with candles, flea collars and much more so they can share with other members of their units.
Dozen of businesses donated items. Local nursing home residents even pitched in with goodies and wrote letters.
"A lot of kids showed concern, care for soldiers (and asked) a lot of questions. It started with one class and (has) grown into the whole school," said Craig Watkins, a teacher.
The students hope to ship about 300 boxes next week.
