Spencer's Gift Store May Be Breaking Law In Local City

The city of Parma has put Spencer's Gifts on notice, saying the national retailer may be violating city law.

This move comes just days after Chief Investigator Duane Pohlman aired an exclusive investigation about Spencer's gift shops at local malls.

A NewsChannel5 hidden camera investigation showed young children getting access to adult toys inside the store.

Mayor Den Depiero called the report "disturbing," and promised he would follow up.

Depiero made good on his promise Monday, giving Spencer's the copy of a Parma City ordinance, which says that mixing mature merchandise and children is against the law.

The ordinance refers to "exposing juveniles to harmful materials."
