An Ohio sheriff says a special deputy was injured when struck by a stolen vehicle fleeing a traffic stop in suburban Cincinnati.
Hamilton County Sheriff Jim Neil says Albert Caldwell, 76, stopped an SUV with two men inside after the driver failed to obey a stop sign Friday afternoon in Silverton. Neil's statement says it was discovered that the driver didn't have a license and he was asked to get out of the vehicle.
Neil says the SUV driver reversed the vehicle, pinning the deputy between vehicles. Neil says both suspects subsequently fled on foot, but he reports Saturday that the driver has been arrested.
Twenty-three-year-old Burnett North faces three charges including felonious assault. A message was left Saturday for his attorney.
Caldwell was treated at a hospital and released.
