Motorcyclist Killed While Trying To Help Stranded Motorist

EAST UNION TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- A man riding a motorcycle was killed Thursday night in East Union Township after attempting to turn around to help a stranded motorist.According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, 56-year-old Timothy Stone, of Dalton, was riding his motorcycle on US 30 around 9:30 p.m. when he spotted the car on the side of the road.Stone pulled into the path of a Chevrolet Cavalier entering US 30 from CR 44 and was struck, trooper said.Stone was pronounced dead at the scene by the Wayne County coroner. The driver of the Cavalier, 38-year-old Kelly Green, of Massillon, was taken to Wayne Community Hospital. Her condition is unknown. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash. The crash remains under investigation.
