The mother of 4-year-old Gregory Cesar broke her silence Monday.

Gregory died after being locked in a car for three hours, NewsChannel5 sister station WPTV in West Palm Beach reported. The medical examiner said Gregory's body temperature reached 108 degrees.

Mirlande Jean-Baptiste called her son's death a horrible accident. She thought Gregory went with four other children into a family friend's car. She said the friend thought Gregory was going with his mom to the nail salon.

The friend was 19-year-old Emanuella Castor. She was suppose to be a bridesmaid in Mirlande's wedding that night.

Investigators have finished interviewing those involved. Their findings have been referred to the State Attorney's Office. They will decide if charges will be filed.
