Rebecca Reynolds, owner of Planet Preen in Rocky River, opened her shop to offer items that were environmentally friendly.

The jewelry she sells is made out of reclaimed materials. She even offers items made by a woman who Dumpster-dives to find special materials. The items run anywhere from $7 to $20.

If you need a hostess gift there are fair trade chocolates as well as glass serving dishes made locally with recycled glass.

If Cleveland has special meaning to you, why not give a piece of it? A company called A Piece of Cleveland, or APOC for short, sells their items at Planet Green. You can purchase a cutting board and other items that come with a rebirth certificate that tells you where the wood comes from and who made it.

Planet Green also sells alpaca wool, which is a local product. All the farmers have their wool made into beautiful objects to wear and these could be in the range of $15 to $30.

She carries designer T-shirts made locally by Joseph Charles. He makes a template and then destroys after just making a couple of shirts, so you have something unique for about $60.

If you have little ones on your list, Planet Green sells plenty of all-natural products from toys to clothing.

Another store in Lakewood also offers a variety of green products. Mary Evans owns Green Smart Gifts. She always has different items for sale, so it's a new experience every time you enter. She offers flowers in the springtime and plenty of kid-friendly products with a focus on education.

A popular line Evans carries is Camden Rose, which makes everything from blocks to bowling pins to teethers. And if you are going skiing or on vacation this winter and need to do laundry while you're away, she carries pre-measured detergent in a biodegradable capsule. It's lightweight which makes it perfect for quick getaways or college students.

Green Smart Gifts also offers unique jewelry made from recycled bike chains, clocks made out of circuit boards and mesh bags that hold everything from groceries to beach items.

Several companies online that sell all-natural products. One that specializes in fair-trade and green products is Original Good which sells jewelry, housewares and more. All the products are fair-trade, which means the people in developing countries who made them were paid and treated fairly.

West Paw Design sells gifts for pets such as sweaters, pillows, and toys that are often made from recycled materials.

TheoChocolate sells chocolate, of course. The chocolate is not only eco-friendly, but it also gets a thumbs-up from the expert taste testers at Consumer Reports.

And if you have someone on your list who has everything, consider giving a gift to someone else in their name through charitable gift sites.
