PARMA, Ohio -- Ohio was a battleground state in the presidential election and now it's shaping up to be a battleground over health care.Nurses wearing hospital scrubs went door to door in nine states Saturday, asking residents to urge their lawmakers in Washington to support the president's reform plan.NewsChannel5 caught up with a Trumbull County nurse in Parma. The program is called House Calls for Health Care and it's sponsored by the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees."To have nurses out there in scrubs sends a powerful message that whatever political bickering is going on in Washington, these are folks we can trust to tell us the facts. And the fact is, we need health care reform and we need it now to bring down costs and improve quality care,” she said. The AFSCME union also wants to make sure that the reform bill is not financed on the backs of the middle class.
