March 19, 2012: Judge Timothy Grendell rejects requests for abuse, neglect or dependency records on Lane.
March 27, 2012: Grendell orders a competency evaluation for Lane.
May 24, 2012: Grendell decides Lane will be charged as an adult. He is bound over to the Geauga County Common Pleas Court.
June 5, 2012: A grand jury indicts Lane on three counts of aggravated murder, two counts of attempted aggravated murder and one count of felonious assault.
June 8, 2012: Lane pleads not guilty in the shooting death of three students at Chardon High School.
Aug. 17, 2012: Lane’s attorneys file a motion for change of venue.
Oct. 1, 2012: Lane pleads not guilty by reason of insanity.
Oct. 22, 2012: A new trial date is set for Jan. 14, 2013. It will be delayed.
Feb. 4, 2013: Judge David Fuhry denies the defense’s request for a new venue.
Feb. 15, 2013: Lane’s attorneys says there is a plea deal in the works.
Feb. 26, 2013: Lane pleads guilty to three counts of aggravated murder, two counts of attempted aggravated murder and one count of felonious assault the day before the one-year mark of the shooting.
