Police are looking for a man who stabbed a bouncer at an Akron bar Thursday night after he was asked to leave the establishment.

The incident occurred at the Whiskey River Bar on East Avenue.

The bouncer, 36-year-old George L. Wodicka, said the assailant had gotten into an argument with the bartender over a price of a drink and the bouncer asked him to leave.

Wodicka followed the man outside and while in the parking lot, the man pulled out a knife and cut Wodicka on the shoulder before fleeing.

Wodicka was taken to Akron General Medical Center. His injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.

The assailant is described as a dark-skinned black male in his late 20s. He's approximately 5 feet 4 inches to 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 200 to 220 pounds and has a mustache.

Anyone with information should contact Akron police.
