AKRON, Ohio -- Police in Akron are investigating a shooting that took place late Thursday night.

The shooting happened around 11:30 p.m. at a home on West Long Street.

Police said 21-year-old Tyree J. Gaines was found lying on a bedroom floor with a gunshot wound to his stomach. He was taken to Akron General Medical Center and his injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.
