AKRON, Ohio -- The fate of a Mansfield baby that doctors say suffers from shaken baby syndrome remains up in the air Wednesday.
Five-month-old Aiden Stein is in a coma. Doctors at Akron General Hospital say he'll never recover and want him removed from life-support.
Today in court, his 13-year-old aunt took the stand. She told the judge that she once hit his head on a light, NewsChannel5 reported.
A doctor testified Friday that the father was caring for the child the day he suffered severe brain injuries.
A judge must decide whether Arica Heimlich and Matthew Stein should lose parental rights for Aiden.
No charges have been filed against the mother and father. Doctors think the parents will try to keep the baby alive to avoid possible murder charges.
The father says he accidentally bumped the infant's head against a bassinet rail.
The hearings will continue Thursday.
